| I thought I'd make an official topic for this. :3
For those of you who are wondering, this all started in the Today thread when Itera, Will and I got on the topic of Vocaloid choruses and how fun it would be to do one.
So now we have a topic to discuss songs and future planning!

| Like... people singing or Vocaloids? I'm getting Oliver at some point this week, but I'm also a lovely tenor.
By the way, Oliver could totally own in that song. Use a similar config to the ones that give us Meito and Mikuo (GOOD Meito and Mikuo) and he'll sound fine. His Japanese is totally passable, too.

| If only I've had practice and good mics here, I'd definitely join!
I'll absolutely be taking a song here with me!

| @Cheshire: I'm pretty certain we're thinking, people singing. And if you could join in, that would be great x)
@Akkie: Well.. well why can't you participate? My mic.'s not very good, and I think we've overall decided this is more for fun than anything else, and going to end up being rather strange xDD

| Masculine or feminine voicing? The song up there *is* for guys, but seeing as we're overwhelmingly female on this forum... up to y'all...
Also, please don't take this as me trying to take over, but maybe we should have a casting before we look at songs? After all, we should base the songs on what voices we have, not try to alter voices to suit a song.
Something like (with mine filled in for example):
Name: Chessie Gender: Female Vocal Classification: young Contralto+, overall Mezzo-Soprano Full Range: approx C3-C6 Optimal Range: A3-A4, head voice optimal C5-A5 Tonality: Generally dark and mature with variable vibrato. Strong chest voice available E-3 through E-4. Other tonalities are clear and straight or airy. Both latter lose lowermost notes. Additional young masculine tone has a limited range of C3-E4 approximately. Limitations: Very prone to tonal breaks. Unusual diction. Struggles with pop. (Good possible aid) Similar Vocaloid voices: Prima (normal), MEIKO (lower voice, straight), Luka (upper registers).
We'd have to be really really honest, though. It's not a place to brag, or a place to be modest. We really need to know what the voices are like. I can do a vocal analysis if you send me a recording of your singing scales (after a good warm-up) either accompanied or a Capella.

| @Chessie: -looks at vocal analysis- -scared- owo True. Instead of altering our voice, it should be our own voice. >.< | |

| @Cheshire-
I don't see this as you taking over at all. In fact, I think this is a great idea. : ) You seem to have alot of experience.
I'd send in a vocal analysis once I find a good mic. That is, if you have the time and all... ^//^;; *is really not all that great of a singer but is willing to try*

| @Cheshire: I think it's a good thing you've brought this up... and I think it's fine what you're doing, and I don't view it as taking over at all. I'll probably have to send in a vocal analysis, but I'll go over this and see how much I can actually answer...

| Ok! I'm so glad people like my idea! I have plenty of time for analyses. I'll probably also have a friend corroborate my decision, so I don't give you incorrect information.
Notes for Analyses: Make sure you go to both ends of your range! Start in the middle, go all the way up, then go all the way down, and warm up really well so I can give the best answers!

| If you want me to analyse your voice, please try to get the recording to me by next Friday, so I can do it before the next term begins. I understand if you cannot, but please do your best to get it to me! You can either post it here or PM it to me if you don't feel comfortable putting it out for all to hear. | |

| Again, a reminder that I need those recordings as soon as possible if I'm to analyse your vocal range and things... please hurry! At this point, I'm not going to be able to get them done before the term begins, but still get them to me so I can do it and we can move on as soon as we can! | |

| Ok, this needs a head chorister. *goes into section leader mode*
We really need to know what kinds of voices we are dealing with here. You can still message me as you like, and stuff, or you can just post what you know about your voice. Analyses definitely don't have to be done by me. I just offered the service to those who might not have other options. I know Will had difficulties with the recording, so I'm going to open up my non-private (or is it double-private? I don't know...) facebook for you guys if you want analyses.
Once we know about more than just two voices, we can move on to cooler things, like songs. I'm excited to move on to songs. Especially if we go into special arrangements. I love arranging.
Will: Maybe you could post the little I could give you here, so that everyone can see it? You can edit it however you like, of course, to make it more organised. This will help to let everyone have capabilities in picking/evaluating songs for do-ability.
